How Guided Path reviews work
Reviews only help if you can trust them. Here is exactly how ours work, for homeowners and for contractors.
Who can review
- Only the customer of a real job that's finished, from a private link sent for that job. One review per job.
- “Matched by Guided Path” means we connected the homeowner with the contractor. “Verified customer” means a customer the business served directly.
- People who work for a business, and Guided Path staff, can't review it.
- Reviewers can update their review for 90 days, for example after a problem is fixed.
What we promise
- Every customer is asked the same way, whatever happened on the job. We never ask only happy customers.
- Every review is published, good or bad, newest first. The star rating is the average of all of them.
- Nothing is ever given in exchange for a review: no money, discounts or gifts.
- Businesses can't edit, hide or pay to remove a review. They can post one public reply.
- Guided Path earns fees from contractors in its network. That never changes which reviews are shown.
- We show a reviewer's first name and last initial, or “Verified customer” if they prefer. Never an address.
The only reasons a review comes down
- Swearing, threats or hateful language
- Someone's private information (phone, address, etc.)
- Not about this job (spam, ads, or about someone else)
- Written by the business, its staff or family, or someone with a conflict
- The reviewer asked us to take it down
A business can report a review it believes breaks one of these. It stays up while Guided Path looks, and a bad rating alone is never a reason. A review that comes down stops counting toward the star rating.
